FAQs

Q: What 4WD training courses does CDTA offer?

A: We offer three courses: the Low Risk 4WD Training Course (one day), the 4WD Operator's Course (two days), and All About 4WD (one day). Each is designed for different experience levels and workplace needs.

Q: Who are these courses designed for?

A: Our 4WD courses are designed for people who use 4WD vehicles as part of their work — whether for routine driving or challenging off-road conditions. The "All About 4WD" course suits everyday drivers, while the Operator's Course suits those needing advanced off-road skills.

Q: Can the training come to our workplace?

A: Yes. We can conduct our 4WD courses at your workplace, provided there is access to a suitable 4WD area for the practical components of training.

Q: What will participants learn?

A: Participants will learn how to drive a 4WD safely and confidently, understand vehicle systems and technology, navigate challenging terrains (hills, uneven ground, slippery surfaces, and water crossings), prepare a vehicle for off-road use, and use basic recovery equipment such as recovery straps and winches.

Q: Is the "All About 4WD" course suitable for off-road driving?

A: No — the All About 4WD course focuses on routine driving situations and everyday 4WD use. If you're planning serious off-road driving for work, we recommend the Low Risk 4WD Training Course or the two-day Operator's Course instead.

Q: What's the difference between the one-day and two-day courses?

A: The one-day Low Risk 4WD Training Course covers safe 4WD operation combined with low-risk driving principles. The two-day Operator's Course goes deeper, giving participants more time to develop practical skills across a wider range of scenarios and terrains.

Q: Does CDTA offer group or corporate bookings?

A: Yes. Our courses are tailored for corporate clients and can be customised to your organisation's specific requirements. Contact us to discuss group bookings and on-site delivery options.
